Elizabeth Smart to Receive the Family Counseling Center’s
Legacy of Hope Award at its Centennial Gala Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012
Please join us Sat., Nov. 3, at the Grand America Hotel as we gather to celebrate the Family Counseling Center’s Centennial of Service to the community of Salt Lake City at a gala event honoring Elizabeth Smart.
Ms. Smart will receive the Center’s Legacy of Hope award in recognition of her courage in speaking out to help others recovering from severe trauma. She has become a beacon of hope and a symbol that it is possible to regain a strong sense of Self and to lead a joyous and satisfying life.
The Gala fundraiser will include a Silent Auction beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and a program at 7:30 p.m., plus musical entertainment.
The evening will also include a tribute to descendants of the Center’s original founders who came together despite different religious, political, economic and social backgrounds to form what would become the Family Counseling Center. Original founders include such luminaries as Simon Bamberger who later became the first Democratic and first Jewish governor of the state.
In the spirit of our original founders, we are inviting business and civic leaders from all segments of our community to participate in this event as sponsors of the evening (see sponsorship levels).
Seating is limited. Tables of 10 may be purchased for $1,500 or individual tickets for $100.
